This post is inspired by several young and aspiring designers who have contacted me on LinkedIn seeking portfolio advice and reviews. After having replied to all those folks and friends individually, I thought that it would be better if I put my thoughts on an accessible platform. In this post, I have tried my best to keep it simple by dividing the portfolio into steps with their explanation.

Many UX designers in their career go through a phase where they work on a project for which they sign a non-disclosure agreement aka NDA which prevents them to showcase their work on a public platform.
